General Manager Position

Shames Mountain Ski Corporation is looking for a General Manager to oversee operations at Shames Mountain beginning with the 2008-2009 season.  Shames Mountain is located 35 km west of Terrace B.C. and has 1,600 ft of vertical drop serviced by a double chairlift, T bar and handle tow.  Facilities include a lodge with customer service area, food and beverage areas, ski rental building/locker storage and maintenance shop.  Our days of operation are Wednesday through Sunday and holiday periods.  We have an average annual snowfall of 900-1200 cm.

Duties

• Reports to a Board of Directors
• Oversees and assists in all aspects of operations
• Maintains an efficient, safe operation that maximizes customer experience and satifaction
• Responsible for hiring, motivating and terminating when necessary

Requirements

• Strong communication and management skills
• Motivated, dedicated individual with strong work ethic
• Ability to draft and implement an operating budget
• Provide direction and leadership for all managers
• Provide a positive work environment
• Prior experience in a comparable operation

Negotiated salary will commensurate with qualifications and previous experience.
